American Baptist
Women's Ministries

The American Baptist Women's Ministries provides opportunities for each woman and girl to become and develop as God's person as they build up the church and serve God's world. American Baptist Women learn together through Bible study and grow together in their relationship to God and each other. They expand their understanding of mission and learn ways to express and demonstrate their faith.

First Baptist's American Baptist Women are actively involved in local missions and in the support of national and international missions. They work directly in community projects with the Salvation Army, Home Sweet Home Mission, Clare House, Habitat for Humanity, Friendship House, Neville House and individual families in need. They also craft baby blankets, sewing kits, lap robes, school and health kits, and layettes. Through Church Women United they support the World Day of Prayer, World Community Day, May Fellowship Day, UNICEF, Blanket Sunday, Church World Service, and CROP. They also assist with the delivery of Mobile Meals and provide meals to families in bereavement.

9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.
