Rev. Thomas G. Bayes. Jr. graduated from Colgate-Rochester/Crozer Divinty School in 1975. He has served pastorates in Wisconsin, Michigan and most recently First Baptist Church of Peoria. In 2010 he received training in the specialties of Interim Ministry. Pastor Bayes states “Interim Ministry requires experienced pastors who understand the dynamics of managing transitions in the church, and who possess the gifts to lead, guide, and care for congregations as they envision a new future together.”
Rev. Bayes has a long list of accomplishments, including experience with Habitat for Humanity, The Alpha Ministry, Youth Missions, and many other local mission projects.
His core values are rooted in West Virginia, his childhood home. Christian faith was very important to his parents, providing an opportunity for his own faith to grow.
In 1979 he married Dianne, who is a retired teacher. She currently volunteers as tutor. They have one son Brandon who lives in North Carolina. Together they enjoy the arts and theatre, walking, swimming, ballroom dancing, and travel. Pastor Bayes also enjoys refinishing and restoring old furniture.
