The Petals
The six petals of the creation window recount the Hebrew story of creation as recorded in the first chapter of Genesis, the book of beginnings. Each petal portrays the creative work of God on each of the six days as the wind (or spirit) of God swept over the face of the watery chaos out of which the heavens and earth were formed.
And on the Seventh Day: “And on the seventh day God finished the work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all the work that he had done. So God blessed the seventh day and hallowed it, because on it God rested it from all the work that he had done in creation.”-- Genesis 2: 2, 3 (click here to go to the six petals and 7 symbols discussion)
